Uzbekistan and Korea Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Technical Regulation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Akmal Djumanazarov, Director of the Agency for Technical Regulation of Uzbekistan, met with Dr. Jae-Sung J. Park, Project Director at Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL).
The parties discussed the current status of projects being implemented in Uzbekistan with the participation of the Republic of Korea, as well as prospects for further expanding cooperation.
It was noted that, under a US$2.3 million grant from the Government of the Republic of Korea and with KCL’s assistance, a modern laboratory for assessing the energy efficiency of household air conditioners was established in the Pskent District.
During the meeting, a final document was signed confirming the completion of construction and the successful commissioning of the laboratory.
In addition, in cooperation with the Korea Institute for Advanced Technology (KIAT) under the Ministry of Trade, Investment, Industry, and Energy of the Republic of Korea, and KCL, further steps were discussed for the implementation of a project to establish a testing laboratory in Uzbekistan to assess the quality of equipment operating on renewable energy sources.
