Uzbekistan and Japan Explore Pharmaceutical Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 17 March 2026, Abdullah Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, held a working meeting with representatives of the Japanese company MITSUI & Co., LTD.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged information about their activities and key focus areas. The Japanese representatives presented the company’s international experience, as well as its investment and technological capabilities.

The discussions focused on prospective areas of bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, including opportunities for contract manufacturing of medicines and joint development of new drugs.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants expressed their readiness to advance mutually beneficial collaboration, implement joint projects, and establish practical mechanisms for interaction between Uzbekistan and the Japanese company.
