Uzbekistan and Iraq Sign Memorandum on the Development of Women’s Entrepreneurship

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Shakhlo Ibragimova, Deputy Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Iraqi businesswomen as part of the Uzbekistan–Iraq Investment and Business Forum, which took place on January 14 in Tashkent.

The discussions involved Satha Al-Zuhairi, Chairperson of the Iraqi Women Entrepreneurs Council, Roa Raad AbdulLatif, CEO of Ababeel Al-Saad Co for Auto Spare Parts, and Parvin Babaker Hama Agha, CEO of WAZ Cement Industries Co.

The parties discussed key aspects of developing the business environment, the role of women in society, and measures to support women’s entrepreneurship in both Uzbekistan and Iraq.

Economic and social areas of cooperation were also considered, including the electrical engineering, automotive, construction materials, and furniture sectors, among others.

Special attention was paid to promoting joint projects and removing practical barriers for companies seeking to enter new markets.

Following the discussions, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Uzbekistan and Iraq, aimed at developing women’s entrepreneurship and strengthening bilateral business ties.
