Uzbekistan and Germany Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Green Economy and Regional Development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 6 October, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan with a delegation led by Karolina Probst, the authorized representative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany for Eastern and Central Asian countries and a candidate of veterinary sciences.

The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilkhom Norqulov and Ministerial Advisor Jasur Karshibaev.

During the discussions, the parties reviewed the current status of projects implemented by the German Development Bank (KfW) and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the implementation of regional development master plans, and prospects for further cooperation.

Particular attention was given to measures aimed at improving energy efficiency, implementing the principles of the green economy, enhancing financial management systems, and executing pilot projects within the framework of the master plans.

Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to expand existing cooperation, promote new initiatives, and jointly implement projects in key areas of economic and sustainable development.
