Uzbekistan and China Plan “Eternal Love” Charity Project

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek diplomats met with Ji Sungtao, head of international cooperation at Heng Yuan Xiang, to discuss the potential implementation of the “Eternal Love Action” charitable initiative in Uzbekistan, reports IA Dunyо.

Founded in 1927 in Shanghai, Heng Yuan Xiang is one of China’s largest corporations in textile, apparel, and yarn production, with annual sales of approximately US$730 million.

Ji Sungtao introduced the project, which has been active since 2005 in collaboration with the All-China Women’s Federation and the China Children and Teenagers’ Fund. Volunteers knit sweaters for children in need using yarn provided free of charge by the company. To date, more than 1.5 million sweaters, valued at around US$25 million, have been distributed to children in China, as well as in Kenya, Nigeria, Sudan, Zambia, Zimbabwe, India, Laos, and Kazakhstan.

Highlighting the strong ties between Uzbekistan and China, the representative expressed interest in expanding humanitarian cooperation. In 2026, the project is expected to launch in Uzbekistan, with the first phase delivering 100–200 handmade sweaters crafted by Chinese women.

Plans for a second phase may involve Uzbek women knitting sweaters from the supplied yarn for distribution to children in China, further strengthening cross-cultural humanitarian engagement.
