Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and Chinese companies Anhui Jiaozhijiao Agriculture Technology Co., Ltd, Ebuy International Co., Ltd and Linghua Group Co,. Ltd held negotiations in the format of a video conference.
Chinese companies specialize in the cultivation, production and sale of agricultural products in the PRC, the Dunyo news agency reported.
The purpose of the business conversation is to ensure the implementation of the decree of the President of Uzbekistan on measures to increase the production and export of garlic and vegetable products.
During the conversation, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan briefed the Chinese side in detail on the main goals, objectives and existing benefits in Uzbekistan for the development of the agricultural market.
During the meeting, Chinese businessmen highly appreciated the level of development of agriculture in Uzbekistan, land fertility, high quality, environmental friendliness and exceptional taste of agricultural products grown in the republic.
Representatives of Chinese companies expressed their readiness to establish mutually beneficial cooperation in the cultivation of a special variety of garlic in one of the regions of Uzbekistan.
At the same time, Chinese businessmen were invited to establish work on the territory of the Kashkadarya region, where they will select among local farmers-entrepreneurs with experience in this area.
An agreement was reached that the Chinese side, as an initial stage of cooperation, will provide free of charge about 200 tons of a special variety of garlic seeds, necessary fertilizers for growing products, and also send relevant Chinese specialists.
The planting of garlic seeds will be carried out on approximately 70 hectares of land, with a further increase in the cultivated area to 700 hectares in the period 2021-2023. According to preliminary data from the Chinese side, the total amount of the project will be about US$50 million.
After harvesting the garlic, Chinese businessmen undertake to process products based on modern technologies and export them from Uzbekistan to the USA and European countries.
Following the results of the online meeting, the parties agreed to start drawing up the necessary documentation for launching the planned project in Uzbekistan.
