Uzbekistan and China Discuss Strategic Partnership Development
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and China have discussed further development of their strategic partnership during high-level talks held on 1 April.
Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov met with Lu Hao, Director of the Development Research Center under the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.
During the переговоры, both sides noted that Uzbek-Chinese relations have reached an unprecedented level and are developing within the framework of an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership. The importance of strengthening expert and analytical cooperation to enhance the effectiveness of trade, economic, and investment ties was emphasized.
The parties also explored promising areas of practical cooperation, including projects in green energy, industry, water conservation, and other sectors.
Following the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in building a systematic partnership focused on joint solution development and deeper bilateral cooperation in priority areas.
It was noted that in 2025, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and China reached US$17.8 billion. In January–February 2026, this figure amounted to US$3.19 billion, with exports increasing by 13 percent.
