Uzbekistan Airways to receive new Boeing 787 Dreamliner jets in 2019-2020
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Uzbekiston Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) and Boeing Corporation signed a contract for purchase of four new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner airplanes, the airline said in a statement on Tuesday, 10 January 2017.
The contract was signed within the programme on modernization and unification of the fleet of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari.
The airline said that Boeing will deliver new airplanes in 2019-2020.
Currently, Uzbekistan Havo Yollari has two Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner jets, which are used to carry out flights to European and Asian cities.
Uzbekistan Havo Yollari said that new Boeing 787 Dreamliner jets will be equipped with GEnx engines, which ensure better fuel efficiency and low noise level.
The airline said that the airplanes will have improved interior with comfortable seats, new lightening system, individual displays for passengers, as well as entertainment system.
During the visit of the President of Boeing Corporation Raymond Connor to Uzbekistan in September 2016, the agreement was reached on purchase of new planes, the Uzbek airline recalled.
