Uzbekistan Airways Posts 45% Profit Growth in H1 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan Airways reported a nearly 45% increase in net profit in the first half of 2025, according to the company’s report published on the Unified Corporate Information Portal.
Revenue from ticket sales and other services rose to 8.71 trillion soums, up 14.6% from 7.6 trillion soums in the same period last year. Meanwhile, cost of sales increased by only 11.4% to 7.64 trillion soums. As a result, the airline’s gross profit reached 1.07 trillion soums, a 43.3% rise year-on-year.
Operating expenses climbed by nearly a third to 504.99 billion soums, with administrative costs surging 60% to 92.23 billion soums. With additional income of 188.6 billion soums (+12%), profit from core operations totaled 754.52 billion soums, up 43% from a year earlier.
Financial activities generated 479.1 billion soums in income (+39.3%). While dividend receipts fell more than threefold to 177.3 billion soums, foreign exchange gains jumped 58% to 424.85 billion soums. However, foreign exchange losses also grew to 549.37 billion soums (+40.3%), bringing total financial expenses to 771.6 billion soums (+39.7%).
As a result, the airline posted a total profit of 389.9 billion soums for the reporting period, from which it paid 72.1 billion soums in profit tax.
Uzbekistan Airways’ assets rose to 20.86 trillion soums (+16.3%), largely due to a twofold increase in advances to suppliers and contractors. However, the company’s liabilities also expanded, with accounts payable climbing to 2.28 trillion soums.
