Uzbek Regions Show Steady Growth in Business Activity

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Comprehensive monitoring of business activity across Uzbekistan’s regions in February 2026 indicates stable growth across key economic indicators, according to the Center for Economic Research and Reforms.

Operational data from the Tax and Customs Committees, the Central Bank, and the Republican Commodity Exchange show overall tax revenues increased by 31.8% compared with the same period last year. The highest growth was recorded in Navoi, Syrdarya, Khorezm, and Kashkadarya regions, as well as in the city of Tashkent, where average increases reached approximately 33%.

Customs payments rose by 22.7%, led by Navoi (+78%) and Namangan (+55.4%). Positive trends were also observed in Ferghana and Samarkand regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and Tashkent, with an average growth of 35%.

Analysis of foreign trade activity shows a 26.1% increase in goods exports. The most notable export growth occurred in Samarkand region (+95.5%) and Tashkent region (+61.6%).

Credit activity also expanded, with commercial bank lending rising by 4.8%. The highest increase was in Samarkand region (+70.3%), while Bukhara, Namangan, Khorezm, and Ferghana regions saw an average growth of 51%.

Trading activity on the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange increased by 40.6%. The largest expansion was in Khorezm region (+99.6%), with significant growth also in Syrdarya, Bukhara, Jizzakh, and Navoi regions, exceeding 60%.

Experts from the Center for Economic Research and Reforms note that these indicators reflect a consistent strengthening of regional economic activity and the creation of sustainable conditions for business development across the country.
