The law was passed by the Legislative Chamber on 18 August 2017 and approved by the Senate on 24 August 2017. The law came into force on 30 August 2017.
The law on amendments to the law on Ombudsperson clarifies the rules on procedure for hearing the report on activities of Ombudsperson, concretizes the order of consideration of the appeals, complaints deadlines and others by the Ombudsperson.
The law said that the people can submit their appeals to Ombudsperson in oral, written and electronic forms. The document sets new articles, which defines functions of Ombudsperson on raising legal consciousness of citizens and development of international cooperation.
It also formulates mechanisms for organizing the activities of the Ombudsman’s regional representatives, interaction of the ombudsman with the courts, and others.
