Uzbek President lays wreath at the foot of the Monument of the Sorrowful Mother

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Memory Square in the capital Tashkent on 9 May. The head of state laid a wreath at the foot of the Monument of the Sorrowful Mother and paid tribute to the memory of compatriots who sacrificed their lives in the name of peace and future descendants.

The image of the Sorrowful Mother embodies all the pain and pain of the war, its tragic consequences. For the mother brought up the defenders of the motherland, they also had the share of the most bitter trials of the war.

In connection with this day, representatives of various ministries and departments, public organizations also laid flowers at the foot of the monument. The youth who came here honored the memory of fathers and grandfathers, people who fell in the name of the current bright days, learned from the past lessons about the value and significance of the world.

The festive event in connection with the Day of Memory and Honor will be held in the Tashkent Botanical Garden.
