Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 March 2021, within the framework of the visit of a government delegation to the Russian Federation in Moscow, the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov met with the Chairman of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Nikolai Podguzov.

During the meeting, the potential of the EDB as one of the universal international financial institutions, providing a wide range of financial and investment products and services, was noted.

Prospects for establishing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EDB were discussed, meaning the Bank provided financing for private sector projects, the creation and modernization of infrastructure in Uzbekistan, as well as the expansion of cross-border trade.

Following the meeting, further steps were outlined to work out specific projects in the above areas, and a schedule of visits by EDB experts to Uzbekistan was agreed upon.
