Uzbek Man Arrested in Türkiye Over Unpaid Bank Loans

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A citizen of Uzbekistan, wanted for the non-repayment of large-scale credit funds, has been detained in Türkiye, according to the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.

The diplomatic mission reported that the whereabouts of the 37-year-old native of the Samarkand region were established through the coordinated efforts of Uzbek and Turkish law enforcement agencies.

Following his detention, the individual was returned to Uzbekistan in accordance with established procedures to face accountability under national legislation. Investigative actions are currently underway regarding the detainee.

The Consulate General also urged Uzbek citizens residing abroad to strictly adhere to the requirements of current legislation to avoid legal consequences.
