Uzbek Foreign Minister Meets with Federal President of Germany
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 February, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov, together with his Central Asian counterparts, held a meeting with the Federal President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
During the talks, the parties discussed strengthening partnership and expanding regional cooperation. On behalf of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Minister Saidov conveyed sincere greetings and expressed gratitude for Germany’s ongoing support for Central Asia.
Special attention was given to Germany’s role in shaping the European Union’s policy toward Central Asia, including initiatives within the EU Strategy for the region. Specific areas of bilateral cooperation were also discussed, such as green development, energy, and education.
The minister emphasized the importance of the meeting and expressed confidence that relations between Uzbekistan and Germany will continue to grow steadily and positively across all areas of cooperation.
