Uzbek FM receives Special Representative of UN chief
At the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on some international and regional problems, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
The officials discussed some ecologic issues, including with rational use of trans-boundary water resources in Central Asia. They also considered practical aspects of interaction between the UNRCCA and International Fund for Saving of Aral (IFSA). Currently, Uzbekistan holds presidency in IFSA.
The sides also considered course of implementation of the programme of measures on liquidation of consequences of drying of Aral and preventing catastrophe of ecosystem of Aral Seas Basin, which was developed by the Uzbek side and disseminated as official document of the 68th session of the UN General Assembly.
