Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 March, Minister of Finance Timur Ishmetov met with the head of the World Bank Office in Uzbekistan Marco Mantonavelli at the Ministry of Finance.
During the meeting parties discussed a portfolio of projects implemented in cooperation with the World Bank, promising initiatives being worked out and a draft DPO-4 (Development Policy Operation) support program. They also exchanged views on the organization of regular working meetings within the framework of technological assistance from the bank and the formation of a matrix of interaction in the implementation of joint programs.
In turn, representatives of the World Bank provided details of the meeting of Finance Ministers of Europe and Central Asia, dedicated to using the post-pandemic recovery process to accelerate the "green" transformation in the region, which will be held on April 6 within the framework of the spring meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
The 2021 WB and IMF Spring Meetings will be held online on April 5–11 to discuss progress in the work of these institutions. Other thematic events are also planned – forums dedicated to international development, economic recovery, vaccination and climate change issues, as well as briefings and press conferences.
