Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 November, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov held a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Uzbekistan Sultan al-Siri al- Kamzi.

During the meeting, Sardor Umurzakov congratulated the UAE Ambassador on the ceremony of presenting his credentials to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and his official inauguration and wished him success in his diplomatic work in Uzbekistan.

The parties discussed the progress in the implementation of bilateral agreements and prospects for expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The progress in the implementation of joint investment projects in the field of energy, logistics and agriculture, as well as the activities of a joint Uzbek-Emirates investment company, was considered.

The possibilities of expanding cooperation through the implementation of new projects in the field of agriculture were discussed. In particular, projects were considered for the creation of innovative greenhouses for the production of agricultural products in accordance with the Emirati and international quality standards, which will allow organizing large supplies of these goods to the markets of the UAE and third countries. In this context, the urgency of creating appropriate laboratories and certification centers in Uzbekistan was noted, and an agreement was reached on joint work in this direction.

The current results of the implementation of the Cooperation Program in the field of improving the efficiency of public administration, implemented in 25 priority areas, were positively assessed.

The parties agreed on the need to deepen interaction by considering opportunities for the implementation of new joint projects in the fields of tourism and education.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the continuation of effective interaction in the framework of the discussed areas, as well as on the organization of systematic work on high-quality preparation for the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates.
