Uzbek delegation holds a meeting with the mayor of Nagoya

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 17 December, during the stay in Japan in preparation for the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umrzakov visited Nagoya, where he met with the mayor of Nagoya Takashi Kawamura. The Khokim of Tashkent Jakhongir Artykhodjaev also attended the meeting as part of the delegation of Uzbekistan

During the conversation, Kawamura shared his general impressions of his recent trip to Uzbekistan, expressing admiration for both the color and originality of the Uzbek culture and the level of economic development of the country.

The course of preparations for the visit at the highest level was examined - the Japanese side emphasized the particular importance of this event for the rapprochement of the two states, the development and expansion of bilateral cooperation in a wide range of promising areas.

The issues of establishing bilateral cooperation in the field of investment and foreign trade were discussed - in this context, the head of the city praised the scale and significance of the Uzbek-Japanese business forum held on the eve of Tokyo, which attracted more than 500 representatives of Japanese business circles. This indicates the lively and growing interest of Japanese companies in doing business in Uzbekistan.

The sides also talked about practical mechanisms for the implementation of the Road Map on cooperation between the cities of Nagoya and Tashkent, bearing in mind the initiation of joint investment projects and the intensification of trade in areas that are priority for both countries and have significant potential for this, as well as the development of cooperation in the tourism sector - An increase in the number of tourists from Japan visiting Uzbekistan, the creation and development of tourism infrastructure and promising measures to intensify air traffic between the two countries.

The meeting ended on a friendly note: the parties identified for themselves the vectors of further cooperation in order to formulate concrete developments and initiatives.
