Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Nineteen Uzbek citizens in Saudi Arabia, who had gone several months without receiving their wages, have been paid in full following the intervention of Uzbekistan’s Consulate General, Dunyo news agency reported.
The workers, employed at the construction site of an industrial complex in the city of Rabigh, turned to the diplomatic mission after their employer failed to meet its financial obligations.
Consulate staff visited the site, met with the workers, and held talks with the management of the Turkish company responsible for the project.
As a result, an agreement was reached to pay the outstanding salaries in full and to arrange for all workers to return to Uzbekistan at the employer’s expense.
