Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Uzbek Embassy in London, together with the Ministry of Health of the Republic, organized an online conference with the participation of Uzbek and British doctors on the topic “The UK’s experience in combating COVID-19 for primary health care professionals,” Dunyo reported.
The event was attended by the leaders of the Royal College of General Practitioners of Great Britain and the Tashkent Institute for Advanced Medical Studies, members of the Coordinating Council for the Control of Coronavirus at the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, as well as more than 200 doctors from all regions of the country.
Specialists of the two countries exchanged experience on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of patients with coronavirus. Particular attention was paid to the role and importance of district clinics and family doctors in preventing the spread of the disease.
The president of the British Royal College of General Practitioners, Amanda Howe, spoke in detail about the system of organization of primary care of British medicine and the specifics of the work of family clinics in a pandemic. Listing the main problems faced by British doctors in countering the new virus, she made a number of recommendations for effective containment of the disease in local communities.
At the same time, British doctors praised the measures taken in Uzbekistan to combat COVID-19, as evidenced by the low statistics of the disease and deaths, as well as high rates of patient recovery, welcomed the high professionalism of Uzbek doctors in achieving such results.
Based on the results of the video conference, the parties agreed to establish a regular exchange of experience in combating COVID-19, as well as establish mutual cooperation in the field of advanced training of doctors.
It should be noted that the Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest professional body of primary care physicians in the UK, with more than 50,000 members. The institution assists them in obtaining licenses, education and research, and sets clinical standards for general practitioners.
