Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – According to the presidential resolution from 18 July 2019, in order to ensure accelerated development and increase the investment attractiveness of the automotive industry, introduce modern market mechanisms and management methods based on international best practices, as well as create a competitive domestic and foreign production markets for 2019-2023, a number of tasks were identified.

In particular, it is planned to increase annual production of cats up to 350,000 units.

Thanks to the optimization program and increasing production efficiency for the current year, UzAuto Motors managed to break the record for the number of cars produced, increasing volumes from 220 thousand units to 271 thousand cars, which is 23.2% more than in 2018.

An important role in this complex process was played by the Kaisen technology, which was introduced in the production of passenger cars at UzAuto Motors factories. This system for the current year allowed to increase the annual production of Damas cars popular among the population - from 40 thousand units up to 60 thousand units

In 2019, a number of measures were taken to establish cooperation and organize the production of component parts in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan. As a result of negotiations, agreements were reached with foreign companies, according to which the production of plastic and noise insulation parts, cables, interior parts, technological equipment and other products will be established on the basis of Uzavtosanoat JSC, which will allow for a phased increase in localization to 60%.

The systematic optimization of production capacities of SamAuto LLC, MAN Auto-Uzbekistan JV and Uzavtotrailer LLC allowed to increase the production of trucks and buses by more than 30% compared to last year. At the end of 2019, more than 6,800 units of trucks and buses rolled off the assembly lines of enterprises.

The year 2019 was also productive in terms of the export program - the volume of export of automotive products of local production grew by 2.8 times compared to the previous year to 100,000 units. In particular, automotive components, cars and trucks, buses, and special equipment became exported products. This was the result of work to resume the supply of cars to export markets such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Belarus, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan and other countries.

At the end of last 2019, UzAuto Motors presented four new SUV models: Chevrolet Trailblazer, Chevrolet Traverse and Chevrolet Tahoe. start from December 26, 2019, Chevrolet Equinox - from March-April 2020. In 2020, it is expected to launch a project to establish the production of new car models on a single global platform. It is on these platforms that production of SUVs and sedans will be launched.
