UzAuto Motors Launches Production of New Damas and Cobalt Modifications
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — UzAuto Motors JSC has announced the expansion of its product lineup and the start of production for new vehicle modifications. The company continues to implement its strategic program aimed at product renewal and diversification, as well as modernization of its manufacturing facilities.
According to the company’s statement, and in line with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan given during his visit to the Khorezm region in May this year, key priorities include the launch of new vehicle models and the development of the Khorezm Auto enterprise.
Production at the new facilities will focus on an updated version of the popular Damas minivan, redesigned to better meet the needs of small businesses and private customers. The new Damas is a compact, economical, and spacious vehicle suitable for both urban mobility and commercial use. The model features increased dimensions, improved load capacity, and enhanced comfort for both driver and passengers. The lineup will include two versions — the passenger Damas Move and the cargo-passenger Damas Max.
Production of the new Damas will run in parallel with the current version, giving customers the option to choose between the proven classic and the upgraded model equipped with modern technological features.
At the same time, UzAuto Motors has completed a major modernization of one of its most popular models — the Chevrolet Cobalt. In addition to the existing configurations, two new versions — the Cobalt Style MCM and Cobalt Midnight MCM — will soon be available. Both variants feature an expanded range of options, updated technologies, and improved comfort and safety.
The new versions were developed based on feedback from Cobalt owners in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and other countries where the model enjoys strong demand. Over 90 percent of respondents highlighted the need for enhanced configurations and factory-installed modern features. As a result, the updated Cobalt now includes 12 new options previously unavailable for this model, such as a touchscreen multimedia system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, cruise control, heated front seats, eco-leather upholstery, a redesigned instrument cluster, a multifunction steering wheel with media controls, and new interior trim elements.
Key technical components have also been upgraded, including the engine, ABS system, engine and airbag control units, security features, and diagnostic systems. In total, more than 50 parts of the vehicle have been modernized.
The next stage in the model’s evolution will be a restyling of the Cobalt’s exterior design, which is already underway at UzAuto Motors. Production of the new modifications will proceed alongside existing versions, allowing customers to choose from four distinct configurations of the Cobalt, each differing in equipment level and functionality.
Information regarding pricing and the start of sales for the new models will be announced at a later date.
