Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Finance presented a list of the largest taxpayers in Uzbekistan. For the first time, UzAuto Motors entered the top 20 of such enterprises, starting immediately from the eighth position of the honorable rating.

The development strategy adopted in 2018 by the new leadership is yielding tangible results that are not only impossible, but also pointless to deny, since these achievements are already of a macroeconomic nature.

The plant, which recently, in the greenhouse conditions of guaranteed demand and "dollar" prices, reported trillions of losses, became one of the locomotives of the economy, and the increase in production and access to foreign markets made it possible to almost triple tax payments in two years, approaching five trillion soums.

It is also important that these successes were achieved in the context of a rather intensive removal of various benefits and preferences with a consistent transition to market-based mechanisms of work. One of the latest such steps was the rejection of VAT exemptions, which was the main reason for the March price adjustment. However, this necessary (albeit unpopular) measure largely contributed to the fact that UzAuto Motors entered the rating of the country’s largest taxpayers: according to the Ministry of Finance’s forecast, 1.5% of the state budget revenues in 2021 will be formed from deductions from the leading automaker.
