Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Announced by the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), a report on the state of religious freedom in the world in 2019, in which the independent structure did not for the first time classify Uzbekistan as “countries of particular concern” (CPC), finds positive feedback among the heads of Muslim and Christian communities in the United States, Dunyo news agency reported.
One of the recognized leaders of the Muslim community in North America, the head of the largest in the US ADAMS mosque, Imam Mohamed Majid, said he was very pleased with "such a good news for Uzbekistan."
“Uzbekistan deserves exclusion from this list, this is a huge progress. Congratulations to the leadership and people of Uzbekistan in connection with this event.
We pray for the best for your beautiful country, and I hope to visit Uzbekistan soon.
Congratulations to all of you on the blessed month of Ramadan! ”He emphasized.
The achievements of Uzbekistan were also highly appreciated by the pastor of the Church North Wood Bob Roberts (Texas), who visited Uzbekistan in November 2019 as part of a large delegation of leaders of religious denominations, experts and US officials.
“I congratulate President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the people of Uzbekistan on the decision of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom to not include the country as a state of particular concern for the first time since 2005,” the American religious leader said.
According to B. Roberts, significant changes have taken place in the country. He emphasized that “he was encouraged by the changes in Uzbekistan and was part of the whole process, together with pastors, imams and rabbis in building bridges of friendship between the countries.”
“I am delighted to see the future of the country. I am glad not only for Uzbekistan, but also for all those countries in that part of the world that will be affected by this event. May God grant the greatest blessing to your country. May the Almighty Uzbekistan bless!”, the pastor emphasized in his address.
