Under-5 mortality rate dropped in Uzbekistan to 12 per 1,000 live births

She said that the share of under-5 underweight children decreased from 3.8% to 1.6% in the reporting period.

The maternal mortality rate went down from 34.1 to 20.0 per 100,000 live births, the Uzbek economy minister Galina Saidova said.

The second national MDG report said that further improving medical service in Uzbekistan will allow to further decrease maternal and child mortality.
