UK’s Cross Works to Open Regional Office in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Cross Works, a British architectural and design firm, plans to open a regional representative office in Tashkent. The agreement was reached during a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Ravshan Usmanov and the company’s founder and managing director Hakan Akca, according to the Dunyo News Agency.

During the discussion, the head of the company highlighted the high level of cooperation with the government of Uzbekistan, particularly with the management of the Directorate for the Construction of New Tashkent. According to him, the company is actively involved in projects related to the development of the new capital district.

The British side also expressed interest in expanding cooperation within large-scale infrastructure and urban development initiatives in other regions of the country, including projects in Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva.

In addition, Akca noted that the company is ready to implement professional training and experience exchange programs for Uzbek architects and engineers as part of Cross Works’ expanding activities in the country.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to establish a regional office in Tashkent that will coordinate the company’s operations in Uzbekistan, as well as across Central Asia and the CIS.

Cross Works is an international design company headquartered in London, specializing in innovative solutions in urban and regional planning, architectural design, digital mapping and the implementation of major infrastructure projects. The company is the developer of the master plan for New Tashkent and, in addition to London, operates an office in Riyadh.
