Traffic video-surveillance systems to be installed in regions
He said that introduction of the systems will be installed in the region stage-by-stage. The cameras will be installed in all large highways of international importance.
Uzbek Minister said that the cameras justified themselves. The system in Tashkent was tested within the six months and it revealed that drivers violate rules for about 40,000 times a day.
After the launch of the system in Tashkent, about 8,000 traffic rules violations were recorded. Now the figure fell to 1,000 violations a day, he said. Minister added that there are days, when lower number of violations are recorded.
Minister of Interior Affairs noted that the system of video recording of violations of traffic rules also helps to solve the problem with traffic jams.
