Three Arrested in Violent Robbery of Elderly Woman in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Three men suspected of a violent robbery targeting an elderly woman have been detained in Tashkent, according to the press service of the capital's Main City Internal Affairs Department.

The report of the incident reached the duty unit of the Internal Affairs Coordinating Department of the Bektemir district. According to the investigation, the perpetrators acted by prior conspiracy.

The attackers beat the victim, inflicting bodily injuries, and stole 12 million soums along with other property before fleeing the scene. During operational-search activities, criminal investigation officers apprehended the three suspects. Physical evidence was seized from them and handed over to the investigative authorities.

A criminal case has been initiated under paragraph "b" of part 2 of Article 164 of the Criminal Code (Robbery). All three individuals have been placed in custody as a preventive measure.

Investigative actions are ongoing. The suspects face a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
