According to CNPC, the first gas from Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan was sent via new line on 31 May 2014.
The line C was constructed along the lines A and B. Its total length is 1,830 km. The designed capacity is 25 billion cubic meters of gas a year, of which Turkmenistan will supply 10 billion cubic meters, Uzbekistan – 10 billion cubic meters and Kazakhstan – 5 billion cubic meters.
The line C of the gas pipeline starts in border area between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and passes through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to China, where it is linked to Chinese gas pipeline “West-East”.
The construction of the line C was started in September 2013 and completed at the end of 2013, according to Xinhua agency.
Currently, the line C of the pipeline will transport 7 billion cubic meters a year. It is expected that the pipeline will reach its designed capacity of 25 billion cubic meters a year and total capacity of the Central Asia – China pipeline will rose to 55 billion cubic meters a year.
The lines A and B of the gas pipeline Central Asia – China has been launched in the end of 2009 and in October 2010 respectively. These two lines are linked to Chinese gas pipeline “West-East”. Turkmenistan delivers 30 billion cubic meters of gas a year to China.
