The volume of construction work performed in Uzbekistan makes up 87.82 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-December 2020, the volume of construction work performed in the Republic of Uzbekistan made up 87.82 trillion soums, and the growth rate in relation to the corresponding period of 2019 reached 9.1%.

It is known that the volume of construction work is formed according to their composition, carried out by large construction organizations, small enterprises and micro-firms, as well as by the informal sector.

Construction work is carried out by organizations of state and no n-state forms of ownership.

As of 1 January 2021, the number of enterprises and organizations in the construction sector reached 40,900 units and, compared to the same period last year, it increased by 4,700 units.

Of the total number of construction enterprises, 58.1% refer to the construction of buildings and structures (growth, compared to 2019, by 8.0%), 9.3% - to the construction of civilian facilities (growth - 22.2%), 32.6% are specialized construction works (growth - 20.8%).

The volume of construction work carried out by large construction organizations in January-December 2020 amounted to 24.21 trillion soums. Compared to 2019, in the period under review, the growth rate of construction work reached 133.1%, and their share in the total volume increased by 3.4% and amounted to 27.6%.

The highest share in the volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations was noted in Tashkent (28.9% of the total volume of construction work in this region, or 119.2% against the corresponding period of 2019), Navoi region (21.4% of the total volume of construction work in this region, or 81.0% against the same period in 2019) an d Bukhara region (20.6% of the total volume of construction work in the region, or 169.2% against the same period in 2019 ).

The volume of construction work performed by small enterprises and microfirms, in comparison with other organizations, decreased in January- December 2020, their share amounted to 52.8% of the total volume, which is 2.9% less if compared with the same period in 2019 Thus, the volume of construction work performed by them amounted to 46 379.3 billion soums and, in relation to January-December 2019, the growth rate reached 4.1%.

The largest volume of construction work performed by small enterprises and micro-firms in the period under review was noted in the city of Tashkent (11 459.1 billion soums, or 61.1% of the total), Tashkent (3 787.1 billion soum s, or 54.6%), Samarkand (3 527.2 billion soums, or 62.3%) and Ferghana (3 146.3 billion soums, or 61.8%) regions.

The share of construction work in the informal sector was 19.6%, or 17.23 trillion soums, the growth rate in relation to January- December 2019 reached 3.7%.

Construction work in the country as a whole, carried out by state organizations, reached 3.65 trillion soums, the volume of construction work carried out by non-governmental organizations amounted to 84.17 trillion soums, and their share is 4.2% and 95.8% respectively.

A significant part of the work was carried out in January- December 2020 for the construction of new buildings and structures. Thus, 70.5% of the total volume of construction work, or 61.88 trillion soums, were directed to the creation of new production facilities in the economy, housing and communal services and other social facilities.

Large construction organizations carried out construction work on new construction for 20.64 trillion soums, or 33.4% of their total volume.

Small enterprises and micro-firms carried out construction work on new construction for 26.26 trillion soums, or 42.4% of their total volume.

In the informal sector, construction work on new construction was carried out for 14.98 trillion soums, or 24.2% of their total volume. 

New construction is the construction of a complex of objects (buildings and structures) for the main, auxiliary and service purposes, carried out on new areas in order to create new capacities.

The bulk of construction work by type of economic activity consisted in the construction of residential and non-residential buildings, as well as in the construction of buildings not intended for living.

The share in the total volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations in the total structure of buildings and structures amounted to 26.6% and, compared to January-December 2019, increased by 4.7% percentage points.

The share of small enterprises and microfirms in this type of activity, compared to January-December 2019, decreased by 3.4 percentage points and amounted to 46.7%.

The share of the informal sector, compared to January-December 2019, decreased by 1.2 percentage points and amounted to 26.7%.

The specific weight of the volume of construction work carried out by large construction organizations for the construction of civilian facilities amounted to 39.9% and increased, compared to January- December 2019, by 1.0%.

Also, the share of small enterprises and microfirms in the construction of facilities amounted to 59.7% (decrease by 1.2%), and the in formal sector - 0.4% (decrease by 0.2%).

In the total volume of specialized construction work, the share of large construction organizations decreased by 0.2 percentage points and amounted to 17.9%, as a result of which the share of small enterprises and micro-firms reached 82.1% (an increase of 0.2 percentage points).
