Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January 2021, the volume of construction work performed in the Republic of Uzbekistan made up 5.86 trillion soums, and the growth rate in relation to the corresponding period of 2020 reached 0.3%, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The number of enterprises and organizations related to the construction sector, compared to the same period in 2017, increased by 85.0% and is one of the sectors with stable growth rates among the sectors of the national economy.
The main factor that influenced the increase in the number of enterprises in the construction industry as of 1 February 2021 by 12.5%, if compared with the corresponding period of 2020, is the increase in the number of operating enterprises in the construction of buildings and structures by 58.1% (of the total enterprises in the construction industry), (growth rate - 7.3%), civil objects - by 9.2% (growth rate - 21.1%), specialized construction works - by 32.7% (growth rate - 20.6%).
The volume of construction work carried out by large construction organizations in January this year amounted to 501.0 billion soums. Compared to 2020, in the period under review, the growth rate of construction work reached 93.0%, and their share in the total volume decreased by 0.7% and amounted to 8.5%.
The volume of construction work performed by small enterprises and microfirms, compared with other organizations, decreased in January 2021, their share amounted to 74.0% of the total volume, which is 0.4% more if compared with the same period last year. Thus, the volume of construction work performed by them amounted to 4.33 trillion soums and, in relation to January 2020, the growth rate reached 1.3%.
The share of construction work in the informal sector amounted to 17.5%, or 1.02 trillion soums, which fell by 0.3% compared to the same period of 2020.
Construction work in the country as a whole, carried out by state organizations, reached 185.1 billion soums, the volume of construction work carried out by non-governmental organizations amounted to 5.67 trillion soums, and their share is 3.2% and 96.8%, respectively.
A significant part of the work was completed in January 2021 for the construction of new buildings and structures. Thus, 62.8% of the total volume of construction work, or 3.68 trillion soums, were directed to the creation of new production facilities in the economy, housing and communal services and other social facilities.
Large construction organizations carried out construction work on new construction for 368.2 billion soums, or 10.0% of their total volume.
Small enterprises and microfirms carried out construction work on new construction for 2 418.1 billion soums, or 65.7% of their total volume.
In the informal sector, construction work on new construction was completed for 893.6 billion soums, or 24.3% of their total volume.
The share of small enterprises and microfirms in this type of activity, compared to January 2020, decreased by 1.5 perce ntage points and amounted to 68.3%.
The share of the informal sector, compared with January 2020, increased by 1.6 percentage points. and amounted to 26.5%.
The specific weight of the volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations for the construction of civilian facilities amounted to 21.3% and decreased, compared to January 2020, by 0.4%.
Also, the share of small enterprises and microfirms in the construction of facilities was 78.2% (an increase of 3.7%), and the informal sector - 0.5% (an increase of 0.3%).
In the total volume of specialized construction work, the share of large construction organizations decreased by 2.6 percentage points and amounted to 6.6%, as a result of which the share of small enterprises and micro-firms reached 93.4% (increased by 2.6 percentage points).
