Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan approved the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Patronage”.

The law is aimed at resolving relations arising from the implementation of charitable activities in order to develop culture and art, as well as science, education, enlightenment and other activities in the field of culture and art.

The basic concepts are introduced into the Law, and explanations of such concepts as a philanthropist, philanthropy (philanthropic activity), philanthropic support, recipient of philanthropic support are given.

According to the Law, patronage activities are carried out in order to create conditions for the conservation, protection and use of cultural heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Also, in accordance with the Law, individuals and legal entities have the right to freely carry out patronage activities on the basis of voluntariness and freedom of choice of its goals.

The approved Law will enter into force after its signing by the President and publication in the prescribed manner.
