Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 March, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov.

At the meeting, Vagit Alekperov reported in detail to the head of our state on the implementation of priority investment and socially significant projects in the republic with the participation of the leading oil and gas company of Russia.

It should be noted that today LUKOIL is one of the largest investors in the economy of Uzbekistan. The volume of investments reaches US$10 billion.

The Kandym gas processing plant operates with a processing capacity of over 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The development of the Khauzak and Shady fields, as well as the South-West Gissar is underway. Important humanitarian programs are being implemented.

During the conversation, special attention was paid to the issues of overcoming the consequences of the pandemic and the implementation of joint projects.

An agreement was reached on the creation of an interdepartmental working group and the adoption of a road map to improve the efficiency of projects and expand strategic cooperation with LUKOIL.
