The business mission "Made in Uzbekistan", organized by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, is annually held in various cities and countries. For 1.5 years of the project’s existence, events were organized in India, Belarus, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
In the case of the Russian Federation, the goal of the project is to strengthen trade and economic cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation through the formation of reliable mechanisms for sustainable long-term partnership between the Russian and Uzbek business communities and a wide familiarization of the Russian business community and the public with export-oriented products produced in Uzbekistan. The roadshow is designed to strengthen the position of Uzbek manufacturers in the Russian market by creating a correct strategy for promoting products and determining mutually beneficial terms of cooperation, as well as developing measures to increase the loyalty of Russian customers and retail chains to manufacturers - exporters of Uzbekistan.
This year in Russia the project was launched in Samara in the format of the specialized exhibition of agricultural products "Green Week". The exhibition was attended by about 40 domestic producers of agricultural and food industry products, representatives of the Export Promotion Agency and the Agency for the Development of Viticulture and Winemaking. As a result of business meetings within the framework of the Green Week, more than 40 negotiations were held and a number of export agreements on the supply of Uzbek agricultural products to the Russian Federation were signed. Over three days, the exhibition was attended by over 5,000 guests, including about 100 representatives of the wholesale trade.
Here, in Kazan, representatives of more than 100 Uzbek companies took part in the business mission, presenting a wider range of high-quality export-oriented products in the fields of agriculture, electrical engineering, winemaking, alcoholic tobacco, textile, silkworm breeding, leather and footwear, furniture, pharmaceuticals, and tourism industries.
As part of the business program of the event, more than 250 targeted negotiations of entrepreneurs were held, as well as about 20 thematic events: panel discussions, round tables, presentations, revealing the possibilities of investment and trade cooperation in the context of industries. Also, the participants had the opportunity to take part in a fashion show as a finished textile product and to witness the process of making handicraft products and dishes of the national Uzbek cuisine.
The results of the business mission in Kazan were large contracts for the supply of agricultural and leather goods and footwear, electronics and household appliances.
In the near future, the roadshow is planned to continue in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other large cities of Russia.
