Opening the meeting of the Kengash, the chairman of the upper house of parliament, Tanzila Narbaeva, emphasized that these days the tests taken by the head of state prompt and significant measures give their positive results. People are satisfied that the President always stays with the people in difficult situations. A lot has been done in a short time, life is gradually returning to its usual course.

It was noted that in this process, senators and deputies of local Kengashes should take an active part, increase initiative, contribute to the implementation of initiatives that contribute to improving the welfare of the people.

At the meeting, a decision was made to convene the fourth plenary meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 11 May.

The plenary meeting will be held in the form of video conferencing. During it, it is planned to consider 20 issues, including 10 laws.

Among them are the new laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the establishment of the Salomatlik Order,” “On the establishment of the Soglom Turmush Medal,” “On the establishment of the Fakhri Murabbiy Order”.

Along with this, the laws “On Amendments and Additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan“ On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020 ”,“ On Amendments and Additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the List of Categories of Persons - Citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Which are Permanent registration in the city of Tashkent and Tashkent region. "

Senators will also consider the issue of cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Union.

During the plenary session, it is planned to hear the report of the Cabinet of Ministers on the implementation in the first quarter of 2020 of the State program “Years for the Development of Science, Education and the Digital Economy”, as well as the reports of the Ombudsman, the Accounts Chamber, the Prosecutor General and the Chairman of the Board of the Central Bank on activities in 2019.

Senators will also consider the question of sending a parliamentary request to the Government on the state of compliance with the legislation when making decisions by khokims.

The agenda also includes the approval of the Presidential Decree "On measures to radically update state policy in the field of economic development and poverty reduction."

During the meeting, information was received from the chairmen of the Senate responsible committees on the progress in preparing the issues to be discussed at the plenary meeting.

The meeting discussed the work to ensure the implementation of the joint decree of the Kengashes of the Houses of Parliament "On measures to further improve the efficiency of the use of dekhkan farms and household plots."

Kengash members also approved the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Holy See.
