Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted negotiations with representatives of the Worley company (USA) on the development of cooperation in the production of high value-added products. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

The company’s delegation included the president of the energy and chemical sectors, Vinayak Pai, the president of nuclear energy, Aleksadr Superfin, and the vice president of Europe and Central Asia, Andrei Woodhead. They presented the latest developments in the financial and organizational structure of Worley and the resulting new partnership opportunities with Uzbekistan.

The country’s fuel and energy complex (FEC) has an example of many years of successful cooperation with Worley in the oil and gas industry, where the joint venture Worley Parsons Uzbekistan Engineering LLC has been created.

Representatives of the company were informed about the large-scale reform of the fuel and energy sector, including the electricity and oil and gas sectors. The sides also discussed the prospects of cooperation in the nuclear energy sector, where the parties are currently completing work on the creation of the Uzbek Atomic Energy Engineering Center in the form of a joint venture.

Following the talks, the parties planned to conduct a series of presentations for specialists in the oil and gas, electricity and chemical industries in order to identify promising areas for the production of high value-added products.
