Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 1 May, the plenary meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis took place, at which, among other issues, the draft law “On Amendments and Additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Combating Human Trafficking” was discussed.

The document establishes the principles of combating trafficking in persons, defines the basic concepts. Legislation that was previously absent before this, introducing the identification of victims of trafficking in persons, establishing the procedure for protecting minors from this crime, is introduced.

The draft law was adopted on first reading.
