Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In accordance with the Program of State Statistical Works, the State committee on Statistics carried out a preliminary assessment of the gross regional product (hereinafter GRP) of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent city for 2020.
Outstripping GRP growth rates in 2020 were noted in Navoi (+7.1%) and Namangan (+4.8%) regions. Low growth rates of GRP, in comparison with the republican level (+1.6%), were observed in Syrdarya region (+0.1%) and Tashkent city (+1.5%) In 2020, the largest contribution to the formation of the republic's GDP was made by the city of Tashkent with a specific weight of 15.3%.
Tashkent and Navoi regions occupy the next places with indicators of 10.8% and 8.4%, respectively. Syrdarya (2.1%), Jizzakh (3.0%) and Khorezm (3.6%) regions, and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.7%) have the smallest share in the formation of the republic's GDP.
At the end of 2020, the largest shares of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in the sectoral structure of GRP belong to Jizzakh (56.1%) and Surkhandarya (50.4%) regions, industry - Navoi (71.2%) and Tashkent (48.4%) region, construction - Tashkent city (10.2%) and Surkhandarya region (8.8%), services - Tashkent city (51.5%) and Fergana region (35.3%).
At the end of 2020, the share of small entrepreneurship (business) in the republic's GDP was 53.9%. In the context of regions, its largest share was observed in Jizzakh (82.7% of the total gross value added created in the region), Surkhandarya (77.1%) and Khorezm (75.3%) regions. The smallest share of small entrepreneurship (business) was noted in Navoi region (25.5%), Tashkent city (45.8%) and Tashkent region (48.3%).
According to preliminary data, the GRP of the Republic of Karakalpakstan for 2020 increased by 2.6% and made up 21 200.9 billion soums. GRP growth is due to positive growth rates in the main sectors of the region's economy, such as agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 2.4% (share in the GRP structure - 30.4%), industry - 4.1% (27.9%), construction - 1.5% (8.5%) and the service sector 1.6% (33.2%). GRP per capita increased by 1.1% and made up 11.09 million soums.
The GRP of the Andijan region in current prices made up 37.91 trillion soums and, compared to 2019, increased in real terms by 2.8%. Economic growth of GRP is due to positive growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 2.8% (share in the structure of GRP - 43.4%), industry - 4.6% (23.7%), construction - 4.9% (5.5%) and the service sector - 0.6% (27.4%). GRP per capita made up 12 million soums and increased by 0.8%.
The GRP of Bukhara region reached 30.75 trillion soums with an increase of 1.8%. The growth rates of agriculture, forestry and fisheries made up 101.5% (share in the GRP structure - 46.4%), industry - 0.6% (18.1%), construction - 11.4% (7.8%) and the service sector - 0.3% (27.7%). The volume of GRP per capita increased by 0.4% and made up 15.89 million soums.
The increase in the GRP of Jizzakh region made up 1.6% and reached 17.44 trillion soums. In the sectoral structure of GRP, the growth rates were: in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 1.0% (share in the structure of GRP - 56.1%), industry - 7.1% (11.3%), construction – 3.5% (7.2%) and the service sector - 0.4% (25.4%). The volume of GRP per capita decreased by 0.5% and made up 12.49 million soums.
The GRP of Kashkadarya region made up 34.62 trillion soums and, compared to 2019, increased by 2.1%. Positive growth rates were recorded in the following main industries: in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 3.4% (share in the GRP structure - 43.6%), industry - 0.5% (18.7%), construction – 0.2% (6.5%) and the service sector - 1.9% (31.2%). GRP per capita increased by 0.2% and made up 10.46 million soums.
The GRP of Navoi region reached 49.01 trillion soums and an increase of 7.1%. The growth of GRP is due to positive growth rates in the main sectors of the region's economy. In agriculture, forestry and fisheries, the growth rates reached 3.1% (share in the GRP structure - 14.3%), industry - 9.4% (71.2%), construction - 5.3% (3.9%) and the service sector - 1.4% (10.6%). GRP per capita increased by 5.3% and made up 48.74 million soums.
The GRP of Namangan region made up 26.63 trillion soums, which is 4.8% higher than the data for 2019. GRP growth rates are due to positive growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 3.7% (share in the GRP structure - 43.9%), industry - 15.8% (14.2%), construction - 13.6% (7.7%) and the service sector - 0.4% (34.2%). GRP per capita increased by 2.7% and made up 9.38 million soums.
The gross regional product of Samarkand region made up 42.37 trillion soums and, compared to 2019, increased by 2.4%. In this region, positive growth rates were noted in the sectors of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 3.1% (share in the GRP structure - 46.9%), industry - 2.3% (14.7%), construction - 9.9 % (6.0%) and the service sector - 0.3% (32.4%). GRP per capita increased by 0.5% and made up 10.83 million soums.
In Surkhandarya region, GRP grew by 4.4% and made up 24 trillion soums. GRP growth factors were the growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 5.6% (share in the GRP structure - 50.4%), industry - 13.9% (7.8%), construction - 7.1% (8.8%). In the service sector, there was a decrease in volume in comparable prices, which made up 99.8% to the level of 2019 (the share of this industry in the GRP structure is 33.0%). GRP per capita made up 9.04 million soums and increased by 2.2%.
The GRP of Syrdarya region made up 12.18 trillion soums and, compared to 2019, increased by 0.1%. In this region, positive growth rates were noted in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 0.2% (share in the GRP structure - 42.3%), industry - 1.0% (25.2%) and construction - 0.3% (8.3%). Negative growth rates were observed in the service sector - 98.8% (24.2%). GRP per capita decreased by 1.8% and made up 14 274.7 thousand soums
GRP of Tashkent region made up 62.66 trillion soums with an increase of 2.6%. In this region, positive growth rates were noted in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 2.0% (share in the GRP structure - 24.8%), industry - 3.8% (48.4%), construction - 5.2% (5.0%), service sector 0.1% (21.8%). Compared to 2019, GRP per capita in real terms increased by 0.9% and made up 21.11 million soums.
In Ferghana region, the GRP increased by 3.0% and made up 36.54 trillion soums. In agriculture, forestry and fisheries, growth rates reached 4.7% (share in the GRP structure - 35.7%), industry - 1.7% (22.7%), construction - 7.2% (6.3%), service sector - 1.4% (35.3%). GRP per capita made up 9.65 million soums and increased by 1.1%.
The GRP of Khorezm region increased by 2.3% and made up 20.82 trillion soums. The growth of GRP is due to the growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 2.9% (share in the GRP structure - 48.5%), industry - 3.6% (12.6%), construction - 3.3% (6.6%), service sector - 0.8% (32.3%). GRP per capita increased by 0.7% and made up 11.07 million soums.
The GRP of the city of Tashkent made up 88.56 trillion soums and, compared to 2019, increased by 1.5%. GRP growth factors were the growth rates in industry - 0.6% (share in the GRP structure - 38.3%), construction - 4.1% (10.2%), services - 1.6% (51.5%). GRP per capita made up 33.74 million soums and decreased by 1.7%.
