The II Meeting of the Business Council "India-Central Asia" was held at the CCI of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 October 2020, the II Meeting of the India-Central Asia Business Council in the format of video conferencing was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The forum was attended by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov, President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Sangeeta Reddy, Secretary of the Department for Eurasian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India Adarsh Svayki, as well as heads of the CCI of the participating countries.

During his speech, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan A. Ikramov noted that in recent years, trade and economic cooperation between the countries that are members of the India-Central Asia Business Council has significantly intensified and this is confirmed by joint events.

It should be especially noted that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan actively cooperates with the national chambers and Business Councils established with India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

In turn, the President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Sangeeta Reddy acquainted the participants with the role and work done by FICCI in protecting the interests of business circles, creating and developing relations with business circles of foreign countries, international business organizations.

The sides also noted the need to reduce various barriers to the development of trade between the member states, as well as to create favorable conditions for cooperation between the business circles of the countries.

The meeting, which was held online, discussed issues on expanding cooperation in the implementation of investment projects, as well as creating favorable conditions for doing business. 

Within the framework of this Business Council, the prospects for the further development of trade and economic ties between Uzbekistan and other countries were discussed between representatives of the participating countries.

In particular, an exchange of views took place on enhancing partnership relations between the countries.

An open dialogue made it possible to clearly identify areas of mutual interest for further in-depth interaction, meaning the elaboration of promising projects and agreements and to determine an effective format for interaction between business circles of the participating countries.
