Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resolution of the President "On measures to accelerate the development of the food industry of the republic and full provision of the population with high-quality food products" was adopted.

The resolution entrusted the Ministry of Agriculture (ministry) with a number of additional tasks.

The Ministry, in particular, will create conditions for mutually beneficial relations between enterprises growing (producing) fruits and vegetables, meat, dairy and other agricultural food products, and enterprises for processing, procurement and sale of these products.

According to the resolution, the Main Directorate for the Development of the Food Industry will be formed, the head of which will be considered the Deputy Minister.

The resolution liquidated the holding company Uzbekoziqovqatholding.

Also, starting from the 2021/2022 academic year, the parameters of the state order for admission to full-time and part-time undergraduate studies in the areas of education "5321000 - Food technology (by type of product)" and "5410500 - Technology of storage and primary processing of agricultural products (by types of products) "of higher educational institutions of the republic will increase.

By 1 December 2020, appropriate measures will be implemented to establish mutual cooperation for students to undergo practical training with leading enterprises, organizations and institutions that have introduced modern equipment and technologies in the field of food technology.

In accordance with the resolution, it is determined:

by 1 January 2021, develop and approve a Program to expand the production of industrial agricultural products for 2021–2023, taking into account the domestic demand for agricultural food products in the republic;

by 1 March 2021, ensure the development and approval of a program for the accelerated development of processing of fruits and vegetables, meat, dairy and other agricultural food products.
