The Embassy of Uzbekistan organized a business webinar presenting the potential of the chemical industry of our country to Japanese companies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 September 2020, in cooperation with the Japanese Association for Trade with Russia and the Newly Independent States (ROTOBO), a business webinar was organized on the topic "Investment and Export Potential of the Chemical Industry of Uzbekistan", according to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tokyo.

The Japan Association for Trade with Russia and the Newly Independent States (ROTOBO) was founded on 16 January 1967. ROTOBO is the only organization in Japan that promotes the development of business cooperation between Japanese companies and the CIS countries. ROTOBO has nearly 200 members, including trading companies, various industries, commercial banks, industry associations, and local governments.

The event was attended by 60 representatives from more than 25 Japanese companies, in particular Itochu, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Sumitomo, Marubeni, Sojits, Toyo Engineering, Mitsui, Hanwa, Yokogawa Electric "and others.

First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Acting Chairman of Uzkimyosanoat JSC J. Mirzamakhmudov made a presentation of the investment potential of the chemical industry of Uzbekistan with the proposal of specific investment projects for joint implementation with Japanese partners, in particular, on the organization of production using the technology of methanol to olefins (MTO), melamine, ammophos, PVC (2-phase ), various chemical products and mineral fertilizers.

Director of Uzkimyoimpex LLC T. Mukhamedjanov informed the participants of the webinar in detail about the export potential of the chemical industry of Uzbekistan, as well as the possibilities of supplying more than 100 types of high-quality chemical products to the Japanese market at competitive prices. In this context, the successful experience of cooperation in this area with the universal Japanese trading company "Itochu" was noted.

Of particular interest to Japanese companies was the MTO project, information on domestic exporting companies of chemical products, the possibility of exporting potash fertilizers and methanol to foreign markets, the use of the latest technologies, in particular artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things in the production process, etc.

During the Q&A session, representatives of Uzkimyosanoat JSC and Uzkimyoimpex LLC provided detailed explanations and comprehensive answers to all questions of interest to Japanese companies.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold separate bilateral meetings with representatives of Japanese companies showing interest in the proposals of the Uzbek side, for a substantive discussion of promising areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
