Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of the community of citizens of the Republic of Korea in Uzbekistan handed over to the khokimiyat of Tashkent city food products for 360 socially vulnerable families (at the rate of 1 set for 2 weeks) who are in a difficult situation due to lengthy quarantine measures for 60 million soums, the Embassy of South Korea in Tashkent said in a statement.

Representatives of the capital’s administration expressed gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Tashkent, noting that this is the first aid provided by the foreign community to the citizens of our country.

In addition, the Korean company Farmer’s Market, operating in Uzbekistan, transferred 150 kilograms of strawberries to patients with coronavirus and those in quarantine facilities. 260 kilograms of strawberries were also sent to the Ariran boarding house, where lonely elderly people from the Korean diaspora live.

Another South Korean company, Dongsan, provided medical workers in Uzbekistan with masks and 100 sets of protective clothing of their own production. In turn, South Korean citizens living in Samarkand raised US$1,400, which were transferred to a citizens support center at the regional khokimiyat.
