Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Construction and installation work is being completed at one of the largest projects in Central Asia - the Uzbekneftegaz GTL plant, worth US$3.6 billion.
General contractors of the project, large construction companies such as Hyundai Engineering, Hyundai Engineering & Construction and the Enter Engineering consortium (Singapore), as well as Uzbekneftegaz are working together to launch the equipment.
It is gratifying that the hard work has paid off. The main power supply facilities of the plant, the central control panel, and the central laboratory were put into operation.
Currently, the overall progress of the GTL project is 94.08%, including the design completed by 99.4%, construction and installation work completed by 85.84%.
More than 10 thousand workers and engineers work at the facility, 614 units of special equipment continue to work smoothly, 851 technological equipment have already been installed at the construction site.
Within the framework of the project, step-by-step adjustment and testing of equipment began. In particular, there are only a few days left for the launch of the flare system, steam power generators, storage tanks for semi-finished and finished products.
In turn, in the short term, units for the production of hydrogen, synthesis gas, production of finished products and air separation will also be put into operation.
The total cost of the project is US$3.6 billion. The goal is to produce 307,300 tons of aviation kerosene, 724,600 tons of diesel fuel, 437,300 tons of naphtha, 53,400 tons of liquefied gas and high value-added products by processing 3.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year.
