Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resolution of the President “On measures to radically improve the training system in the field of transport” was adopted.

In accordance with the resolution, the Tashkent State Transport University was established on the basis of:

Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers;

Tashkent Institute for the Design, Construction and Operation of Roads;

Faculty of Aerospace Technologies of Tashkent State Technical University.

The University is the basic higher educational institution for the training, retraining and advanced training of specialists with higher education and scientific personnel for the transport sector.

The university is under the departmental subordination of the Ministry of Transport.

The resolution defines the main tasks and activities of the University.

One of the main tasks of the University is the training, retraining and advanced training of personnel, as well as specialists in mass professions based on the needs of the transport sector.

The educational process at the University begins with the academic year 2020/2021. The student admission quota is determined based on the annually approved parameters of the state order for admission to higher education institutions of the republic.

A qualified foreign specialist will be appointed to the post of first deputy rector for strategic development of the University.

According to the resolution, in 2020–2022, a new educational building, buildings for students' homes and an information and resource center will be built on the territory of the University.

Also, on the basis of the academic lyceums of the Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers and the Tashkent Institute for the Design, Construction and Operation of Roads, the Academic Lyceum of Tashkent State Transport University will be formed.
