Tashkent Launches “Intensive 90 Days” Program to Improve Road Traffic

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Tashkent city administration has announced the launch of the “Intensive 90 Days” program, aimed at implementing a comprehensive set of measures to improve traffic conditions in the capital.

The initiative follows a 26 February visit by Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration, to the city’s Traffic Management Center (TMC), during which additional priorities and specific tasks were identified to enhance the efficiency of urban traffic management.

TMC specialists pinpointed 472 kilometers of the city’s most congested streets as the starting point for implementing priority measures. The program includes designing and introducing traffic organization solutions, prioritizing public transportation, developing supporting infrastructure, and regulating the placement of advertising structures along roadways.

Key measures also cover optimizing the location of retail outlets, installing, upgrading, and modernizing traffic lights and road signs, improving road markings, refurbishing bus stops, conducting pothole and patch repairs, and organizing parking spaces.

City authorities note that the implementation of these initiatives is expected to significantly improve Tashkent’s road traffic system, delivering tangible benefits for residents and visitors alike.

The TMC, established by presidential decree in December 2025, is a specialized body tasked with systematically enhancing Tashkent’s transport policy. The “Intensive 90 Days” program marks its first major effort to comprehensively modernize the city’s street and road network and optimize traffic management.
