Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Tashkent city hokimiyat has reported cases of fake social media accounts using the name and photograph of the city’s hokim, Shavkat Umurzakov, to address citizens.
The press service of the hokimiyat stated that all such accounts are fraudulent. Any personal messages, correspondence, or requests coming from these profiles are not connected to the hokim or employees of the city administration.
The official statement emphasized that the hokim of Tashkent and other officials do not send personal messages to citizens for communication purposes. Any official pages or communication channels will be announced exclusively through the hokimiyat’s official information resources.
Citizens are urged not to trust these accounts, avoid any contact with them, and refrain from sharing personal data with third parties. Suspicious messages should be immediately reported to the relevant law enforcement authorities.
