Strike on an Elementary School in Iran was Carried Out by American Forces - Reports

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — U.S. investigators are examining the possibility that the strike on an elementary school in southern Iran was carried out by American forces, Reuters reported, citing two unnamed officials.

According to the sources, military experts consider U.S. involvement in the attack on the girls’ school likely, but no definitive conclusions have been reached yet, and the investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, The New York Times reported that the strike on the school may have been part of a U.S. Air Force operation targeting a nearby naval base of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), based on satellite image analysis.

The Shajare Tayebe School in Minab was hit on 28 February, the first day of the large-scale U.S. and Israeli military campaign against Iran. According to the latest reports, 171 people were killed, most of them children.

Tehran has called on the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to condemn the attack. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova noted that Western media largely ignored the mass child casualties, calling the lack of response “outrageous.”

So far, six schools in Iran have been reported hit during the conflict.
