Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies and UNGM-DR (a joint venture between Chemical Engineering Plant and Siemens Energetika) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The parties intend to develop long-term cooperation in the field of service maintenance of combined cycle plants manufactured by Siemens Energetika in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of this partnership, the UNGM-DR enterprise will provide technical support to STGT in servicing large gas turbines, attract its specialists, provide production facilities, and master technologies for repairing parts of power equipment.
UNGM-DR was founded in 2000 with the participation of Uzbekneftegaz and Dresser-Rand (part of the Siemens Energetika group of companies). The key focus of UNGM-DR is the service of oil and gas equipment and the production of spare parts.
The cooperation of the two companies is another step towards the localization of Siemens Energetika’s service work in Uzbekistan. Equipment maintenance by its original manufacturer will form the basis for the efficient operation of critical process equipment, and localization will ensure the promptness and stability of such maintenance.
Uzbekistan is one of the key markets for Siemens Energy in Central Asia. The installed equipment park of the company in Uzbekistan totals about 100 units. In 2017, the launch of a large-scale cooperation program "Initiative for Uzbekistan" between the Republic and the company was announced. As part of the Initiative, a number of bilateral cooperation documents were signed, including on technological partnership in the development of the fuel and energy complex, smart cities (digitalization of urban infrastructure), wind energy, and healthcare.
