State Customs Committee: facts of illegal import of goods for 4.5 billion soums were suppressed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Employees of the anti-smuggling and customs audit department of the State Customs Committee for the city of Tashkent, the railway border customs post "Technical office Chukursoy" and the customs post of foreign economic activity "Chukursoy" identified and suppressed facts of attempts illegal import of large quantities of goods under other names. This was reported by the press service of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

When carrying out customs control of goods arriving from abroad in railway containers, the images displayed on the display of the inspection equipment system during the inspection attracted the attention of customs officers.

Since it was obvious that the images of the goods contained in the container did not coincide with the information about the goods declared in the shipping documents.

According to the documents, the container was supposed to contain more than 20.5 tons of household goods of 17 varieties. But, during the customs examination, it was found that 5877 units of goods of 26 varieties with a total value of 1 billion 525 million soums were not declared in the shipping documents.

If the plan of unscrupulous entrepreneurs worked, then only 78 million soums of customs payments would be paid to the state budget instead of over 377 million soums.

Also, during the inspection of another container, a similar violation was revealed.

Only this time, in addition to inconsistencies in the documents with the available goods, it turned out that the information about the consignee was also changed.

As it became known, the spatulas-trowels and electrodes declared in the documents were absent among the cargo, and the number of other goods was much less than it was stated in the documents.

During the customs control, it was found that the railway container contains about 20 tons of goods of 45 varieties with a total value of 3 billion 20 million soums, which were not declared in the documents.

The importing company planned to make customs payments for 43 million soums. In fact, it should pay customs payments for 1.68 billion soums.

As a result of the operational measures carried out, inventory items worth 4.5 billion soums were withdrawn from illegal traffic.

Currently, on the revealed facts of offenses, customs checks and investigative actions are underway.
